  1. I trace with my finger, and sometimes my eyes. Like you reported, I too get frequent headaches, am particularly artistic, and have a very active mind that is hard to shut off. Generally I trace words that I hear, and shapes/objects on T.V. and the computer, or in whichever room I am in. I am prone to anxiety and worry, but that has gotten a lot better over the years. My tracing has gotten worse. It definitely does not interfere with daily life.. It just seems to be an odd tick that I have.

  2. I do this constantly. I was looking online to find out what I have, what it is called. I am going to make an appointment with a Psychiatrist to help me with medications I am on for Fibromyalgia and Migraines. Two of them are antidepressants. I was wondering if there was another type that might “cure” me of this problem. I luckily came across your post. I did not realize that there was no other information out there. I have never looked before. I don’t know why. It drives me nuts that I do this! And I really do do this constantly.

  3. Wonderful to find I am not alone! I have been tracing as long as I can remember. I do it and don’t realize I have until I think about it and look around the room and point out the different items I have traced. I can’t answer what and why some things are traced and others are not. I have noticed lately that I have increased it and can’t seem to “shut it off”. I use to just trace the TV, but now find myself tracing the room in the scene of whatever I am watching. I don’t trace people other than their glasses if they are wearing them and their eyes. At night before going to bed I tend to trace the outline of my bedroom, the ceiling fan, the dresser mirror, windows and doors. Of course there are other “items” in the room but I don’t remember ever tracing them. Lately I have noticed that I have been tracing the road as I drive, which kind of freaks me out a bit
